The 2007 show was a big success, but we also received some important requests from our visitors and contestants. One suggestion was to allow more people to participate, so this year we have changed the rules. We let the Second Life residents nominate their favorite fashion labels under five categories.

The top 5 nominees in each category will be subsequently invited to participate in the week of the showcase.

The showcase SIMs are open to the public from April 20 to 25, 2008. Here we will be offering visitors the chance to go around and take a closer look at the nominees’ work before submitting their vote.

This year we also have added prizes for residents who nominate and vote. There are 10 iPod Nanos to be raffled among those who nominate and vote. But wait! there is more! To help our selected charities with well needed funds, the Merovingi Group has donated 5 brand new iPods. By donating 100L$ or more you automatically enter the drawing!

Last year’s first prize was one year of free land and 25,000 L$ in cash; this year, we will be handing out a brand new Apple iMac 20" computer to each category winners and much more!

On the final day, we will be having a live show, which will be broadcasted, also live, on the internet by our friends at Second Life Cable Network (SLCN.tv). This gala event will host performances by real live artists, and also announce the winners.

The seats are limited and proceeds from the ticket prices go directly to a charitable organization! This will be a night where you will have the chance to mingle with some of Second Life’s biggest fashion designers, fellow fashion lovers, but most importantly, you finally get to wear that fantastic dress you always wanted.
